Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2016

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Following Paul Evans was Assistant Deputy Minister, Climate Change and Environmental Policy Division / Sous-ministre adjoint, Division de l'action en matière de changement climatique et des politiques environnementales Robert Fleming, with annual earnings of $199,041.86. Assistant Deputy Minister, Chief Drinking Water Inspector / Sous-ministre adjointe, inspectrice en chef de l'eau potable Susan Lo made $197,233.52, Assistant Deputy Minister, Environmental Programs Division / Sous-ministre adjoint, Division des programmes environnementaux James Whitestone made $167,406.54, and Director, Partnerships / Directeur, partenariats John Vidan round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $167,156.48 for the Environment & Climate Change 2016 Sunshine List.

Breaking down the numbers

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2015, 236 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 91 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 9 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 1 received between $200,001 and $250,000 at the Environment & Climate Change.
